Pyongyang, August 23: North Korea is determined to show its military power by any means. As local media reported, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered the production of more solid-fuel rocket engines and rocket warhead tips. The state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Wednesday that Kim gave the order when visiting the Chemical Material Institute of the Academy of Defense Science.
"He instructed the institute to produce more solid-fuel rocket engines and rocket warhead tips by further expanding engine production process and the production capacity of rocket warhead tips and engine jets by carbon/carbon compound material," North Korea's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.
Solid fuel missiles are different in nature. It does not have to be loaded with fuel just before launching. Hence time would be saved and will make the missile less vulnerable to a pre-emptive strike. Such missiles are also easier to transport and hide.
The report of Kim’s visit to a chemical Institute came after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson appeared to make a peaceful approach to Pyongyang. US President Trump also said, "I respect the fact that he is starting to respect us."
