Darjeeling, August 24: Prior to the scheduled all party meeting in next week, the hill area of Bengal witnessed one more blast. Though no one has been injured in the attack but the successive blasts in last two weeks have
questioned the security of the hill.
The administration held this incident as pre-planned as the optical fibers near Sukhiapokhri police station was cut by the anti-socials. Hence this affected mobile networks of the area also. Local police source is saying, like Darjeeling blast IED has been used again. But local people are demanding the blast was grenade attack. Around 2.00 am in the night, some anti-socials came and flew after throwing the grenade.
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha has meeting and marches across the hill area. Hence some people are holding them as responsible for showing their power. But GJM denied any kind of connection to blasts. Morcha leader Binay Tamang said they believe in democratic protest.
Amid this tension, Forest Bunglow in Kalimpong was set on fire. The situation has suddenly worsened and the security has been much strengthened.
