Saturday brings good news for Bihar flood victims; PM Modi announces Rs 500 crore assistance for the state

Patna, August 26: Finally Bihar flood victims can smile as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced immediate assistance of Rs 500 crore to flood ravaged Bihar. To review the flood situation properly, PM Modi conducted an aerial survey and held a top level meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Sushil Modi. The state authority also got the assurance of all possible help.

PM Modi reached Bihar on Saturday Morning. There conducted a survey of Kishanganj, Purnea, Katihar and Araria districts of Seemanchal region, which has been the worst-hit in Bihar floods. A large number of roads, railway tracks, National highways are severely damaged due to the over pouring. PM said the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry would take appropriate action with regard to repair of the damaged roads in Bihar.

The infrastructure would be restored at the earliest with the central help. PM also emphasized on the immediate payment of crop insurance amount to the farmers of the flood affected areas. 2 lakh rupees each will be paid next to the kin of those who died in flood related incidents. Fifty thousand rupees each will be given to injured persons.

 

 This year flood has affected several parts of India. North East, Gujarat, North Bengal has witnessed flood misery along with Bihar. Bihar is one of the worst affected in the situation. More than 7 lakh people have been displaced by the flood. The death toll reached 400.In such scenario, the decision may bring a smile to all victims.

For this great help, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has thanked PM Modi. Deputy CM Sushil Modi has also expressed his gratitude for the help.
