After receiving grand welcome at Andhra Pradesh, VP Venkaiah Naidu says ‘I am retired, but not tired; I will serve my duty unbiasedly’

Vijayawada, August 26: M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President, received the grand welcome at Vijayawada today. Being the home-state, Naidu was felicitated by the Andhra government amidst a very rousing welcome where thousands were gathered to get his glimpse. 

Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed Naidu at the Gannavaram Airport and then he was taken to the city in an open jeep. Around 5,000 people including opposition parties and educationists and other eminent persons were present for the felicitation function of VP arranged at Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi of Amravati.

Accepting the grand and warming welcome, Venkaiah Naidu said that he would serve his people unbiasedly. Earlier Venkaiah Naidu had sanctioned 2.25 Lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as Union Minister for Urban Development; further the vice-president will inaugurate a pylon of housing scheme near the Secretariat.

He would also leave for Tenali in Guntur district to attend Alapati Venkatramaiah centenary celebrations. On Sunday the Vice-President is expected to reach Swarna Bharati Trust at Atkur near Gannavaram in Vijayawada and inaugurate mega medical camp.
