New Delhi, August 3: Day five of the 2017 Pro Kabaddi League witnessed the stunning competition in both the matches. The first match of Haryana Steelers created a brilliant fight back to Gujarat Fortunegiants but unfortunately led to a tie. In the second match, Rahul Chaudhari's Telegu Titans suffered yet another defeat, fourth in the run as Bengal Warriors opened their campaign with a convincing win at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.

It was an action-packed game that came right down to the wire but Gujarat Fortunegiants and Haryana Steelers settle for a draw. It was a spirited effort from Haryana Steelers who made their way back into the game from a deficit of 23-11. It was Surjeet Singh who brought them back into the game picking up 6 points on his raids, three by touch and 3 as bonus points. He had support from raider Vikas Khandola who picked by 7 raid points.

Though the Haryana Steelers did not start off well and made a few tactical errors by holding Surjeet back. On the other hand, it was a complete team effort from Gujarat Fortunegiants who could not make use of the massive lead and succumbed to the pressure in the latter part of the second half created by Haryana Steelers.

On the other side, Telugu Titans failed to regroup themselves after a frenetic start to the match, but no such worries for the Bengal Warriors as they opened the campaign with a convincing win. Warriors' Maninder Singh was the top raider of the match with 9 points in 16 raids, while his team-mate from Korea Jang-Kun Lee was player of the match, for his eight raid points from 12 raids.
