Moscow, August 3: The new sanction imposed on Russia by the US which was passed last week expected to be signed by us President Donald Trump. Finally making the prediction true, Donald trump signed the legislation on Wednesday. The signature has limited Trump’s power to ease sanction against Russia. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev termed it as a "full-scale trade war".

The sanction has ended the hope of improved US-Russia relation. The legislation also includes sanctions on Iran and North Korea. The sanction mainly targets Russia’s over activity in Syria and Ukraine. Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project has been viewed as a threat to the energy security of Ukraine.

Russia already got back at the US on the sanction issue with a massive cut in the diplomatic tie. Following a series of events, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Sunday that US diplomatic presence in Russia will be cut by 755 people.

Russian Prime Minister accused Trump of showing “total weakness.” According to him, Trump surrendered to Congress making a bad impact on his relationship with Moscow. Though Trump after signing expressed his objection. "As president, I can make far better deals with foreign countries than Congress," Trump wrote.

Though trump grudgingly signed the bill, he had nothing to do as the bill passed the Senate with the high majority. Even if he would use veto power, the senate could easily overcome it with major votes. He kind of helplessly signed the bill.

Russian Prime Minister said the sanction has put an end to “the hope that our relations with the new American administration would improve." “The Trump administration has shown its total weakness by handing over executive power to Congress in the most humiliating way,” Medvedev wrote on Facebook.
