For hygienic rural India share ideas on Swachh Bharat Hackathon

New Delhi, August 4: With a mission of cleaner rural India, Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin was launched. Usage of toilets is the key goal of the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin. Ministry of Drinking water and Sanitation wants to crowd source solutions to bring change. Through Swachh Bharat Hackathon, ministry invites technological solutions that can be adapted in rural areas to effectively measure usage of toilets.

The portal for submission of the ideas has become accessible from 2nd August. The ministry invites the solutions which should be the solutions should be: affordable, scalable, socially acceptable, easy to use accurately. The solution could be either a technology or a technique or a combination of the two to monitor usage.

Behavioral Change is another aspect that will be focused on during this innovative. As habits also grow up with us it is tough to change older behavioral patterns. That is why the Swachh Bharat Mission invites innovative solutions to trigger and motivate people to stop open defecation and use toilets, at scale.

MDWS is looking for technological solutions to manage and to dispose of sanitary waste. For the safer environment and less pollution, cost-effective ideas have been invited.

The Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin invites solutions for innovative toilet technologies from the participants from Remote and poorly connected areas hard rock areas and Flood Prone areas.
