Security forces gunned down two Hizbul terrorists in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district

Srinagar, August 4: Elimination of Abu Dujana doesn’t stop Indian security forces to neutralize other terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, elimination of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir continues effectively as Indian security troops gunned down two terrorists belonged to Hizbul terror outfit in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

 

Security forces on Thursday late night gunned down newly-recruited local terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen with his close aide after a fierce encounter that broke out at Kanibal in Bijbehara of Anantnag district. Arms and ammunition along with the body of slain terrorists are recovered by security forces.

According to official sources, the search operation was launched following the specific information about the presence of terrorists in the Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Terrorists opened fire when security forces were sealing the area. In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists of Hizbul outfit were killed.


During the encounter, which lasted for two hours, one terrorist identified as Yawar, hailing from Anantnag, was killed with his close aide while one managed to escape under the cover of darkness. However, a soldier of 3 Rashtriya Rifles, who was identified as rifleman Rohit Kumar, also sustained injuries.

Internet services have been blocked and restrictions are likely to be placed in the area as Yawar’s body was handed over to his family for burial. On Thursday, two Indian Army personnel, including a major were martyred and as many militants were killed in two separate gun battles in the valley.

However, this comes three days after LeT chief commander Abu Dujana of Pakistan along with his accomplice Arif were killed in an encounter with security forces at Hakripora village in Jammu and Kashmir`s Pulwama district. The civilian was also killed in protest that erupted following an encounter of Abu Dujana.
