Thiuruvananthapuram, Aug 6: Union Finance and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley Sunday said that incidents of violence increased when the Left Democratic Front (LDF) came to power in Kerala.
The LDF government is headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
He was addressing media persons after paying visit to the family members of the slain RSS activist Rajesh. Rajesh was done to death on July 29 in a most brutal and barbaric manner by the CPM activists.
Union Finance Minister said that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s government needs to “discipline its own cadres rather than let them loose on political opponents.” he added.
Jaitley said that he still was hopeful that this environment did not continue for very long. “I hope the state government takes active stops to prevent the recurrence of any such incident”, he added.
Vijayan's government needs to "discipline its own cadres rather than let them loose on political opponents," he added.
The Finance Minister, who met Rajesh's family members today, earlier said "even the enemy of a country doesn't do this."
Earlier Jaitley met the family members of the slain RSS worker and consoled them.
Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan has rejected allegations that CPI(M) workers were involved, but has pledged to put an end to the kind of violence that claimed Rajesh's life.
