President Kovind, PM Modi greets fellow countrymen on Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi, Aug 7: President Ram Nath Kovind today extended his greetings to the nation on occasion of Raksha Bandhan. President Kovind received Raksha Bandhan greetings from students and children from various schools and organizations at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Along with this delegation of 116 women and 27 men representing the Gujarat, Koli Samaj greeted President Kovind.

 

The President of India in his message on the eve of Raksha Bandhan has said,“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I offer my warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens.”
 
 
 Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. “On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, congratulations to the nation. Greetings on Raksha Bandhan,” Modi twitted.

Women and children from various segments of society called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence and tied Rakhi on PM's wrist. Prime Minister blessed the children and conveyed his best wishes to everyone on the occasion. On this auspicious ocassion, Modi met widows from Vrindavan who came to Delhi to tie hand-made rakhis on his wrist.

 

Sharbati Devi, a 103-year-old widow, today visited the PM's residence and tied a Rakhi on PM Narendra Modi's wrist. Sharbati Devi lost her brother about 50 years ago, and would always miss him, especially on Rakhi.

 

Various Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of the states have extended their wishes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
