Puerto Princesa, August 8: Indian athletes continue to shine in the International sports arena and also continue to make country proud. Notably, India finished the Asian Junior Boxing Championships with two silver and six bronze medals in Puerto Princesa, Philippines which concluded on Monday.
Satender Rawat and Mohit Khatana settled for silver medals after losing their final bouts in the Championships. Rawat in 80 kg category lost to Uzbekistan’s Almatov Shokrukh in a split verdict, while Khatana also in 80 kg went down to Kazakhstan’s Togambay Sagyndyk.
Earlier, Ankit Narwal in 75 Kg category, Bhavesh Kattimani in 52 Kg category, Sidhartha Malik in 48 category, Vinit Dahiya in 75 Kg category, Akshay Siwach in 60 Kg category and Aman Sehrawat in 70 Kg category claimed bronze medals after losing in the semifinals in their respective weight categories.
India, however, finished the Asian Junior Boxing Championships with two silver and six bronze medals, a creditable performance by the young contingent, however, wasn’t able to win gold.
