Rajnath Singh discussed major obstacles to development of Border infrastructure in review meeting of Border area projects

New Delhi, August 8: Border development area projects are very crucial for National security. To review total scenario of the Border area, a meeting was held on Monday by Home Minister Rajnath Singh. In the meeting, Home Minister directed that the ongoing Border projects should be completed on priority and in a time-bound manner.

Border Roads, flood lights, Border Outposts (BOPs) and Integrated Check Posts are very important for Border infrastructure. Hence those subjects were discussed. Along with that, major obstacles to stunning growth of border infrastructure were discussed.

In some places, physical barriers are not possible. In such cases, technological ways should be considered as solutions. This will involve networking of equipment like High-Resolution Cameras, Radars, Unattended Ground Sensors, Optical Fibres, Infra-Red Sensors, Aerostats and Hand-held Thermal Imagers.

Residents of bode area face various types of difficulties. For basic needs like education, health, special assistance will be extended to them.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Mehrishi, OSD, MHA, Rajiv Gauba, Heads of Border Guarding Forces and Senior Officers from different Organizations were present in the meeting.
