State Govt committed to social uplift of Adivasi community: Raman Singh

Raipur, August 9: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today greeted the citizens of the State and in particular Adivasis on 'International Adivasi Day' on 9 August. In a message on the eve of Adivasi Day Singh said that State Government is committed for the social uplift of Adivasis.

Chief Minister said that State had implemented several social welfare schemes for socio-economic development of deprived sections of the society. He added that State Government had been focusing on health, education, laying of roads, drinking water, telecommunications and skills' up-gradation and other basic infrastructure amenities.


Chief Minister added that Surguja and Northern Regions and Bastar and Southern Regions Adivasi Development Authorities had been constituted. Development works are being carried out continuously in the Adivasis dominated regions. State Government Medical colleges had been established at Bastar and Surguja.

He said that Education City had been established at village Janwanga district Dantewada. Education City had also been established at Sukma district. 'Sor Sujla Yojana' had been launched for Adivasi farmers to provide solar irrigation pumps. He assured the Adivasis that State Government is committed to protect Adivasi culture.
