Tripura CM Manik Sarkar pitches for Indo- Bangladesh joint action against extremism

Agartala, Sept 1: Stressing upon the need of joint efforts against terrorist and fundamentalist forces Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar underscored that India and Bangladesh should work on a common platform to defeat the anti-humanitarian forces.

Addressing the gathering organized on the theme of1971 Bangladesh Liberation War Sarkar asserted that two nations help each other in order to give a befitting reply to these violent activities sponsored some fundamentalists. "Youth of both India and Bangladesh must be shown the path of future in the light of experiences of the past and the people of the two nations must go forward shoulder to shoulder, " said Sarkar.

A Tripura-based NGO "Uran" in association with A Bangladeshi private TV channel has floated a three-day exhibition-cum-cultural program to commemorate the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and the sacrifice of "Mukti Joddhas" who fought against the Pakistani forces in the 1971 war.
