Modi Cabinet reshuffle to take place on Sunday, New faces will be inducted

New Delhi, September 1: A third reshuffle of PM modi’s cabinet will undertake at 10 am on Sunday, a top government official said. At least 5 central ministers resigned as a part of cabinet reshuffle yesterday.

“A process has been set in motion for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan around 10 am on Sunday,” the official said. 

Skill development minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, MoS for Health Faggan Singh Kulaste, MoS for Agriculture Sanjiv Balyan, MoS of HRD Mahendra Nath Pandey were all asked to put in their papers. Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati has offered to quit on health grounds.

According to sources, more Ministers may resign as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is preparing to induct new faces into his Council of Ministers. The exercise is expected before the Prime Minister leaves for China on Sunday to attend the BRICS Summit.

The new-look council of ministers will include BJP leaders from states where elections will be held in the next few months, like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. Karnataka, where the BJP hopes to wrest power from the Congress, is likely to get two new minsters.

While the JD(U) will join the cabinet, sources in Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK, have said reports of the party joining the cabinet are incorrect.

Also, Bhupendra Yadav, who belongs to Rajasthan and has charge of Gujarat, is tipped to be a minister. The JD(U)'s Ram Chandra Prasad Singh and Santosh Kushwaha are tipped to be ministers.
