Telugu Desam Party sweeps Kakinada Municipal Corporation polls, humiliating defeat for Jagan

Kakinada, Sept 1: Basking in the grand success of recently held Nandyal by-election Ruling Telugu Desam Party today swept the high stake Kakinada Municipal Corporation polls by winning 32 divisions out of 48. The yellow army once again proved its mettle ahead of the 2019 election. Proving to be a historic victory for TDT under the dynamic leadership of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after a long gap of 30 years the ruling party took reigns of Kakinada Corporation.Its junior partner BJP who had contested 9 seats, emerged victorious in 3 segments.

Facing yet another humiliating defeat after Nandyal by-election YSR Congress won 10 seats but this time Congress could not open its account. On August 29 the civic polls for Kakinada Municipal Corporation were held after the gap of 7 years. There were 241 candidates were in the fray and 67 per cent turnout was recorded.

Expressing happiness over the thumping victory of TDP in Kakinada civic elections Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu thanked people of Kakinada for supporting the policies of state government. Speaking to the media after the victory of yellow army Naidu stated that his government has taken the responsibility to transform Visakhapatnam and Kakinada into smart cities. He further slammed YSR Congress for maligning the image of ruling party.

Hailing the efforts of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet Minister Nara Lokesh thanked people of Kakinada for the spectacular performance.
