New York, September 17: Strongly rejecting the claim of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at United Nations Human Rights Council, India on Friday slammed OIC and said that it contains factually incorrect and misleading references to the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, Pakistan at UNHRC session while speaking on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation claimed that Indian forces are violating the ceasefire at LoC and trying to change the demography of Kashmir. In reply to it, India outrightly rejected all such references and stated that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation contains factually incorrect and misleading references to the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The first secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to UN Sumit Seth said, “Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation has no locus standi on India’s internal affairs.” “We strongly advise the OIC to refrain from making such references in future,” Sumit added.
Interestingly, the 57-nation body, OIC, claims to be the voice of Muslims across the world. Pakistan is a member of the group. However, earlier in the month of July this year, the 57 -member OIC had demanded through a resolution that India implement the UN resolution on Jammu and Kashmir to which New Delhi flatly rejected and said that the OIC does not have a locus standi in the internal matters of the country.
