Tokyo, September 4: Expecting to boost the bilateral relation between Japan and Russia, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Russia from Wednesday. Shinzo Abe will have talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Russia's Vladivostok. This will be third Abe-Putin meet of this year.
“We hope that during the current visit to Vladivostok, the results of the first year of such cooperation will be summarized while the visit would give momentum to the development of Russian-Japanese relations in all areas," Japanese ambassador to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki told.
A Japanese-Russian peace treaty may also be discussed during Shinzo Abe’s two-day visit. "Putin and Abe will very likely discuss joint economic activity on the four islands as well as humanitarian actions for former inhabitants of the islands," Kozuki said.
