Moscow, September 4: In last week, the U.S. came up with the decision of closure of three Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States. Moscow clearly expressed its disappointment over the decision and as a “blatantly hostile act”. It also viewed the decision as a violation of international law and demanded Washington reverse the order.
Russia on Sunday claimed FBI searched the Russian Trade Representation building in Washington, DC. Russian Foreign Ministry published video supporting their claim but Washington did not comment on that. Regarding this incident, Peskov commented that it may only “elicit resentment and deepest regret”.
The relation between two countries has badly degraded in recent times. Resembling the time of cold-war era, both the countries are involved in an action-counter action game. The fall started since Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. Now the US sanction on Russia, Russia’s order to cut US diplomatic staffs from Moscow, Washington’s order to the closure of Russian facilities in the US have escalated the motion of the fall.
“We urge the U.S. authorities to come to their senses and immediately return the Russian diplomatic facilities,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said. “Otherwise the USA will bear the total blame for the ongoing degradation of the relations between our countries,” it added.
