Nairobi, September 6: In last week, Kenya’s Supreme Court canceled the validity of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win as President and ordered for a re-run. Whereas it almost proved the opposition’s claim true, Kenyan opposition politician Raila Odinga vowed Tuesday that he would not participate in a new presidential election. In such a context, the Chief Executive of Kenya's electoral agency, Ezra Chiloba, has been replaced.
On Tuesday while addressing media in Nairobi, opposition leader “We know what the IEBC did, and we know that if we were to go back there will be no different results, and that’s why we say there will be no elections”.
Hence amid all such controversies may bring Election Commission a relief. The chairperson of Kenyan Election Agency said the changes are aimed to keep the commitment towards a fair poll in next one. According to him, the rerun will be "in accordance with the Constitution, the relevant laws and that it reflects the sovereign will of the Kenyan people."
