Colombo, September 7: Indian cricket team registered a commanding win over Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the one-off T-20 International cricket match in Colombo on Wednesday. Interestingly, it was an all round performance by Indian team as they outclassed the Lankans to sweep the series 9-0 across all formats.
After winning the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli invited hosts Sri Lankan to bat first. Sri Lanka posted a competitive target of 170 runs in a stipulated 20 overs after losing seven wickets. Dilshan Munaweera smashed his maiden half-century while debutant Ashan Priyanjan played a useful hand to guide Sri Lanka to a respectable 170 for seven.
On the other side, India lost their early wickets with Rohit Sharma on 9 top-edging one off Lasith Malinga, although he did put on 22 runs for the opening stand with KL Rahul 24. Skipper Virat Kohli top scored with 82 off 54 balls while Manish Pandey remained unbeaten on 51.
Skipper Virat Kohli's blazing blade ensured a comfortable win in the game as the visitors completed a 9-0 rout of Sri Lanka. It was the first time that an Indian cricket team registered an all-win record across formats in an overseas tour. India has already swept the Test series 3-nil and the ODI series 5-nil.
