New Delhi, September 7: Terrorism is the biggest threat faced by India especially in Kashmir which is spread by its neighbour Pakistan. But, Indian security forces in few years have successfully curbed terrorism throughout the country. Therefore, giving a strong message to Pakistan, a safe haven for terrorism Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu said that Indian army can breach Line of Control (LoC) and go across to strike terrorists when it is needed.
Notably, during a press conference on Thursday, Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu who is a Commander-in-Chief of Northern Command of the Indian Army said, “Surgical strike was for a point we wanted to drive home that LoC is not a line that cannot be breached.” “When we want to, we will be able to breach LoC, go across and strike when we need. A subtle message we wanted to convey,” Lt Gen D Anbu added.
Taking on the issue of infiltration in Valley, Lt Gen D Anbu said, “lots of attempts are made but most are not successful due to which there has been a sharp decline in infiltration.” “Terrorists continue to try to infiltrate, we have been foiling their attempts to infiltrate into Kashmir Valley/ Jammu region,” Lt Gen D Anbu noted.
He also said that the situation on a line of control is in control and troops are very firm in dealing with infiltration. Lt Gen D Anbu asserted that a large number of terrorist camps and launch pads still exist across south and north of Pir Panjal region of Pakistan and they have not yet decreased.
Talking on India-China border issue, Lt Gen D Anbu said that meetings are taking place between both countries, discussions are on through hotline on East Ladakh so don't expect another Doklam type situation.
