Mumbai, September 7: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed that the amount for farmers under loan waiver will be deposited directly in farmers’ accounts by the first week of October. CM Fadnavis under his historic move brought this loan waiver scheme under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojna to relieve farmers from financial burden.
After the farmers were asked to speed up the registration process, the banks, cooperatives and information and technology departments were also asked to implement the process at a fast pace.
While addressing the meeting at Sahyadri Guest House in order to review the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojna, CM said that “As many as 69 lakh farmers have been enrolled in debt waiver scheme while as many as 57 lakh farmers have applied for this historic debt waiver scheme.”
CM Fadanvis said, “Deadline for registration is 15th September. After that, the bank should make the necessary data available on time. After scrutiny and inspection by the cooperatives and information and technology departments, the actual amount of money must be deposited in the account of the farmers since the first week of October this year.”
The farmers’ interests are on the top priority on the state government’s agenda. The banks need to co-operate immediately. Once the debt waiver is accumulated in the farmer’s account, they should be brought back to the financial credit line so that they are eligible for a new loan.
