Toronto Film Festival 2017 kickstarts today; Priyanka Chopra to present ‘Pahuna’ at the festival

Toronto, 7 September: The 42nd Toronto Film Festival is a big affair thisyear and we can’t for it to start. All eyes from the Oscar jury will lie upon TIFF for the screenings. Whole of Hollywood descended on the Canadian city to premiere the major releases that will dominate cinemas this winter - and, they hope, the Oscars next March.
Among the possible awards contenders showing at TIFF are First They Killed My Father, directed by Angelina Jolie; Breathe; Breathe, directed by Andy Serkis; Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool starring Annette Bening; and Roman J Israel, Esq starring Denzel Washington.
TIFF will showcast 250+ feature films which opens today and runs until September 17. However, 13 of the highest-profile titles in this year’s programmes are: Downsizing, Tonya, The Current War, Molly’s Game, Borg/McEnroe, On Chesil Beach, Battle of the Sexes, Suburbicon, Gaga: Five Foot Two, Kings, Super Size Me 2, Stronger and Mother. All eyes are going to be fixed on the aforementioned movies that it features famous Hollywood actors and makers.

While TIFF 2017 commences today, one Bollywood star that has gone international was the main attraction of the Bollywood, and i.e. Priyanka Chopra. The official Twitter handle of TIFF described the Desi Girl of Bollywood as, “a rarity in the film industry, as one of the only actors to become an enormous star in both Hollywood and Bollywood.” Priyanka went with her mother Madhu Chopra to present her Sikkimese production, Pahuna. This is her 5th venture into the movie production after Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi, Ventilator, Sarvann and Kay Re Rascalaa.
