Along with Shobu, Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati, who essayed the role of antagonist Bhalladeva will also address the gathering. Rana is also coming up with a web series called Social which will begin from tomorrow on streaming platform Viu.
An environmental engineer turned film producer Shobu is the son-in-law of veteran film maker K. Raghavendra Rao. After pursuing his environmental engineering Yarlagadda along with his friend and Business partner Prasad Devineni came up with the ventures like spice and natural extracts business, and then a dot-com company both in India. But after facing back to back Business failure the young entrepreneurs floated the Arka Media Works in 2001, a TV production house.
During his initial days, Shobu worked as a line producer for some projects of K. Raghavendra Rao The technocrat also produced a Telugu serial called shantinivasam under the direction of S.S. Rajamouli. The combination worked and under his home production, Shobu did one flick called Maryada Ramanna which was helmed by maverick director S.S. Rajamouli.
In 2015, Shobhu produced Baahubali series, which recorded the highest grossing Indian film within India. Touted to be the most expensive Indian film, the film was featured in the BBC's documentary on 100 Years of Indian cinema. The second part of Baahubali: The conclusion which was released on April 28 this year has proved its mettle on the global plank by and also become the highest grossing India film. The makers of Baahubali are all set for its grand release in China on September 17.
Recently Shobu Yarlagadda was quoted by the international magazine Forbes for redefining the process of storytelling, breaking stereotypes. The renowned magazine hailed the efforts of producer for a transmedia plan for his epic Baahubali film series where various platforms like graphic novels, mobile games and purchase jewellery, novel trilogy, animation series and other items featured in the films through an extensive licensing and merchandising programs were introduce in order to involve and engage the huge fan base of Baahubali series. The makers named it as the world of Baahubali.
