New York, September 8: Sania Mirza kept the Indian hopes alive in the US Open after progressing to the women's doubles Semifinal. Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner Shuai Peng showing up a gritty performance defeated Hungarian-Czech pair of Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova on Thursday in the US Open which is being held in New York.
The fourth seeded pair of Sania Mirza and Shuai Peng registered a victory over Hungarian-Czech duo of Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova by 7-6, 6-4 in a match that lasted for one hour 56 minutes. They will next meet the pair of Martina Hingis and Hao-Ching Chan.
