CM Fadnavis projects ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ at World Economic Forum in Davos

Davos, January 23: Aiming to create an Indian Centric Davos this year, Indian PM Narendra Modi under the tagline of "India means business", attented the roundtable conference by 40 CEOs of global companies and 20 from India. He addressed the round table conference highlighting that Indian Business has great opportunity on Global platform.


 

The Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis attending the 48th annual conference of World Economic Forum is likely to project the state of Maharashtra as a business leader during his three days at the global forum ahead of the crucial ‘Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018 summit to be held in Mumbai from February 18-20.

Addressing a special session, “Creating a Shared Future in Fractured World” Fadnavis will interact with heads and senior directors of World Bank, Coca Cola company, Deutsche Bank and ArcelorMittal among other global companies. The government will explore investment potential in various sectors including defence manufacturing, textile hubs, electronics and IT parks and infrastructure among others.

 

Apart from this discussion on food security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity for sustainable agriculture, the next Centre of Fourth Industrial Revolution will be proposed at Mumbai. Discussion on up scaling of value chains through public private partnership to cover 25 lakh farmers, encourage innovations, use of drones, better connect with banks, financing as per actual cropping pattern and better insurance facilities have also been taken into consideration.

 

Moreover the center is also directing considerations on science & technology based policies for the benefit of society creating a global hub of expertise, knowledge sharing and collaboration with special focus on robotics, artificial intelligence, application of technology like drones for agriculture.

 

Further emphasizing on the development of Infrastructure at the economic forum he said that the aspiring youth engage the Infrastructure led development. There are almost 50% projects are set in Maharashtra. Talking about the green field projects Fadnavis elaborated on the term convergence by saying that convergence is an important feature and without it nothing is possible. The speed at which India is running towards development and progress is all because of the efforts laid by PM Narendra Modi on fast track. CM FAdnavis also spoke on mobility projects in Mumbai and said Mumbai will be the first city by 2022 where all means of transport will run with integrated approach. Efforts are strong and the work is in progress for 258km Metro, elevated corridors, coastal road, sea link, MTHL, new airport & water transport in progress!

 

More than 100 countries are likely to participate in the session to be attended by 2,500 delegates. The session will dwell on the economic challenges and opportunities across the world.
