Hubballi, January 23: Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of sponsoring the alleged protest of Bengaluru bandh to spoil the scheduled rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in poll-bound Karnataka.

Addressing the press conference here on Monday, the former Chief Minister described Bengaluru bandh as the Congress sponsored political drama. On February 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the BJP’s Parivarthana rally at the state capital. On the same day, several pro-Kannada groups have called for a massive protest on the issue of the Mahadayi Water sharing Disputes.

Taking a pot-shot at CM Siddaramaiah, the Hubli – Dharwad MLA observed that frightened ruling party is deliberately fuelling the Band activity to stall the mammoth public event of BJP. Taking note of another schedule protest on January 25, Shettar maintained that such distraction would pave the way for the humiliating defeat of the Congress government.

The senior BJP leader went on saying that BJP would adopt the policy of tit for tat if rucks continue during the scheduled visit of PM Modi. Shettar threated that BJP activist would stage a massive protest during Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s state visits. On this occasion, former Karnataka BJP Chief Pralhad Joshi former Ministers Basavaraj Bommai and C.C. Patil were present.
