Ranchi, January 24: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das presented the budget for the fiscal 2018-19 is for building a New Jharkhand. Addressing the press after tabling the annual budget for the year 2018-19 worth Rs 80,200 crore in the assembly, Das said the budget for fiscal 2018-19 a reflection of the improving economic structure of the state and despite the difficulties, he was trying to fulfill the promises made to the people.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a call to build a new India and the state government was working to realize the dream of a New Jharkhand.
He said, the budget for 2018-19 was focused on five core areas included for doubling the income of the people living in the rural area, creating employment opportunities, development of SC/ST, women empowerment, all-round development of backward districts apart from that focus has also been accorded to education, health, nutrition and basic infrastructure, drinking water supply scheme, urban development, linking the villages with roads and providing electricity in every home.
"Our government is not just about promises and slogans. We ensure that work is done at the grassroots levels. Suggestions taken from all five pre-budget meets would surely be incorporated in the budget," the chief minister said. He further said that the government would give priority to poor and women in this budget.
