Washington, January 31: US President Donald Trump delivered his first 'State of the Union' in the Capitol, themed 'a safe, strong and proud America'. The US President known for his harsh tone in speeches sounded soft and optimistic in his address.
"The United States is a compassionate nation. We are proud that we do more than any other country to help the needy, the struggling and the underprivileged all over the world," Trump said.
"But as president of the United States, my highest loyalty, my greatest compassion, and my constant concern is for America's children, America's struggling workers and America's forgotten communities."
He said, small business confidence is all time high and unemployment is at 45-year low. The President said, his administration has created 2.4 million jobs and has undertaken biggest tax cuts.
"We have acted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history. Our massive tax provide tremendous relief for the middle class and small business to lower tax rates for hard working Americans. We nearly doubled the standard deduction for everyone. Now, the first 24 thousand dollars earned by married couple is completely tax free."
Trump said, America has also finally turned the page on decades of unfair trade deals that sacrificed country's prosperity and shipped away their companies, their jobs and their nation's wealth.
