Court should respect religious sentiment: Superstar Rajnikanth on Sabarimala row

Chennai, Nov 30: Superstar Rajnikanth believes that Judiciary should not interfere into the matter of faith and old traditions. The ace actor in his recent media interaction with India Today clarified his stand on the controversial Sabarimala verdict of the Supreme court.

He reiterated that Court should not interfere in the matter old traditions and culture and should respect the religious sentiment of lakhs of people. When asked about the women’s right to pray, the Superstar mentioned, “It is better to keep things the way it is”.

The 67-year-old star pointed out that every temple has its own time-honored rituals so one shouldn't be disrespectful to the same. The actor turned politician opined that sensitive and traditional matters should be dealt with utmost care.

Even after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Sabarimala, the hilltop shrine is witnessing conflicts between Lord Ayyappa devotees and women activist. The agitation turned violent when some women activist tried to enter into the premises.
