Film fraternity calls on Prime Minister Narendra Modi; seeks relaxation in GST

Mumbai, Dec 18: A top delegation comprising veteran actors, filmmakers, producers and CEOs of companies in the entertainment industry today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The star-stubbed panel urged Prime Minister to review the existing rates of GST and also pitched for lower and uniform rates. On this occasion, the delegation briefed PM Modi about the ongoing activates of the film fraternity.

Actor Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, director Rakesh Roshan, CBFC Chief, and Lyricist Prasoon Joshi, Director- Producer Karan Johar and Siddhartha Roy Kapur were among those present at the meeting.

Terming Indian entertainment industry as the key element of India's rising soft power status, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that the Union Government will defiantly take the call on issues presented by the film fraternity. He further added that the central government would consider the suggestions positively.

On this occasion, Maharashtra Governor C H Vidhyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other officials were present.
