Madurai, Dec 18: It seems the actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan is in no mood to spare incumbent AIADMK government. Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for not listening to the plight of people who are suffering from cyclone Gaja, the Makkal Needhi Maiam founder said that even after 30 days, state government officials are not serious about the damage caused by the horrifying natural disaster.

Speaking to the media, Haasan alleged that arrangements in the relief camps are insufficient and worst. “Without visiting ground zero, what is the meaning of damage assessment and other stuff”, he asked. He demanded that the center and state government must address the problem faced by the people living in the coastal region.

Commenting on NGT’s order on controversial Sterlite plant of Vedanta group, the ace actor took a swipe at Tamil Nadu government saying that they have failed to handle the Sterlite case and suggested that Sterlite protestors should go for legal battle instead of backing on the state government.

Rejecting the closure order of Tamil Nadu government, On December 15, National Green Tribunal cleared the desk for the Vedanta Group's Sterlite plant at Tuticorin. Palaniswami led Tamil Nadu government has decided to challenge the order of National Green Tribunal on controversial Sterlite plant at Tuticorin.

Refuting the reports of pre-poll-understanding with DMK and Congress, Haasan clarified that his outfit will always stay away from such activity. He opined that Makkal Needhi Maiam is not founded to get rid of a particular party or government whereas, the much anticipated grand alliance is being stitched to topple one government. He stated that Makkal Needhi Maiam will prefer to go alone.
