Youth Congress raises objection against ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’; demands special screening

Mumbai, Dec 27: Taking exceptions to the trailer of Anupam Kher- Akshaye Khanna starrer political drama “The Accidental Prime Minister”, Maharashtra Youth Congress leader demanded a pre-release screening.  
Satyajeet Tambe Patil who heads the Youth wing of Maharashtra Congress shot a letter to the makers and raised objection over the depiction Congress party and its apex leadership.

Demanding a deletion of some scenes, Patil said that if issues raised by the grand old party remain untouched, makers will face the heat. He threatened to stall the Pan-India release of the period drama.

Makers of “The Accidental Prime Minister” today unveiled the much-anticipated trailer.



Based on the book penned by Dr. Manmohan Singh's former media adviser Sanjay Baru, the flick will recreate the developments under Manmohan Singh's Prime Ministerial stint. Directed by debutant Vijay Gutte and written by Mayank Tewari, Karl Dunne (UK), Aditya Sinha, the film will hit the theatres on January 11.

The trailer establishes the controversial events of power tussle between then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Award-winning actor Anupam Kher is essaying the role of Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna is helming the character of Sanjay Baru.

It also features German actor Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi and Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi and Ram Avatar Bhardwaj as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
