Chandigarh, December 28: In Punjab, the State Election Commission has allowed the forthcoming Panchayat poll candidates or any other person to undertake videography outside the polling booths during voting on Saturday.
A spokesperson of the poll body said in Chandigarh on Thursday that there is no need to take permission from any official for it. To maintain the secrecy of the voting, the Commission, however, made it clear that the videography will not be allowed inside the polling booths.
If a candidate or any other person wants to undertake videography outside the polling booths, they can't be prevented from doing so, he continued.
The voting will be held on December 29 from 8 in the morning to 4 in the evening and the counting of votes will be taken up after concluding the polling.
The State Election Commission has established 17268 polling booths and 86340 personnel will be deputed on election duty.
