Chandrababu Naidu launches mega drive for water conservation

Amaravati, February 12: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today launched the 116-days long mega drive for water conservation. Addressing the gathering here, Babu assured that state government will take all possible steps to address the issue of water scarcity under Neeru Pragati Programme.

Briefing about the various programmes initiated by state government, the Chief Minister stated that interlinking all rivers is the need of today and TDP government is quite seriously working of the fusibility of the venture. He mentioned that Water resources ministry is closing monitoring the ongoing drive in order to clear the long pending irrigation projects.

Under Neeru Pragati Program, the state government would carry out several tasks like repairs for tanks, interlinking of tanks, construction of check dams, recharging bore wells, measuring water levels and other water conservation and preservation methods. The statewide drive will end on June 7, 2018.

On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswar Rao, ministers Prattipati Pullarao, Nakka Anand Babu, Guntur MP Galla Jayadev and other officials and TDP members were present.
