Amritsar, February 20: The Border Security Force (BSF) Tuesday early morning eliminated a Pakistani drug smuggler and recovered 10 kilograms of heroin from his possession in Punjab's Ferozepur sector. Notably, Pakistan sends terrorists in Kashmir to spread terrorism while in Punjab it sends drugs so that the youth exploit their future and life.

BSF gunned down a Pakistani drug smuggler and recovered 10 kg of narcotics as well as arms and ammunition from his possession along the Barreke post in Firozpur sector of the Indo-Pak International Border (IB). BSF and the special task force of the Punjab police laid an ambush to intercept cross-border drug smugglers and infiltrators.

A senior BSF officer said, “The team located two Pakistani smugglers approaching towards the fence after crossing the International Border into the Indian side.” “After being challenged they opened fire on the forces and in heavy retaliation, one smuggler was killed while other fled back to Pakistani side taking the cover of darkness," the official added.

The body of a slain drug smuggler, 10 kg of drugs (heroin), one Chinese pistol and a magazine, 17 bullets, Pakistani currency worth Rs110, 2 mobile phones, 3 Pakistani mobile phone SIM cards, a plastic pipe and some other items were recovered from the spot.

Meanwhile, in another incident, the border force apprehended a 30-year-old Pakistani national, a resident of Lahore, from the Maharsona border post in the Fazilka district of the state late last night. Earlier, in the month of December last year, BSF recovered 13.26kg heroin from the border outposts (BOPs) of Daoke and Bharopal on the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar district, Punjab.
