Nitin Gadkari, Suresh Soni share stage at 5th ‘Nadi Mahotsav’

Bandrabhan (Hoshangabad), Mar 17: Union Surface Transport and River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Minister Nitin Gadkari and RSS Sah-Sarkaryawah Suresh Soni participated in the 5th ‘Nadi Mahotsav’ (River Festival) held here on March 16.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Suresh Soni said that the world of rivers and rivulets in the villages is altogether different and we need to understand it. Making differentiation between the western and Indian thinking, Soni said that we need to know and understand out fundamental thought process and make changes accordingly.

He said that the science had made various machines in the last 150 years but some of the technologies and machines have created certain problems also. Indian philosophy impresses upon mind that the earth is one integrated unit and human life is associated with the five elements.

Referring to the work of late AnilMadhav Dave, the RSS leader said that Dave had done such works that inspires us to follow him. We need to move ahead with maintaining the balance of ecology.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that there was no paucity of water in the country but there is scarcity of planners. He said that trials are on to convert sea water into potable water in Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu and soon potable water from sea will be available for Rs 5 per litre, he said.

 

Expressing concern over the condition of rivers in India praised the state government for the steps it has taken towards water conservation. He also recalled the work done by late Anil Madhav Dave in the field of cleaning Narmada River and preserving environment and ecology. He said that forest, water, and animals are the greatest god given gifts to humanity and we must preserve them by protecting our environment and ecology by adopting an integrated approach.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that we need to understand the importance of rivers in human life and its evolution and to make efforts to keep them alive. He recalled the mission started by late Anil Madhav Dave and said that to accomplish his mission will be the real tribute to that great soul. He reiterated the commitment of his government to bring about happiness in people’s life and develop then socially too.

A book penned by late Anil Madhav Dave “Narmada Pariikrama Marg” was released by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
