Winning gold medal for India in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Australia, Mary Kom made India proud.

 

Entering the ring one last time, and earned what was hers. On 11th Day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast today, MC Mary Kom won India's 18th Gold medal. The five-time world champion defeated Northern Ireland's 21-year old Kristina O'Hara in the women's 48kg boxing final. It is Mary Kom's first Commonwealth Games gold medal.

Mary Kom has always been an example for everyone especially women who dream to pursue their ambitions and do what they want. Mother of three, the boxer champion has every now and then giving success goals to women.

The 35-year-old five-time world champion and Olympic bronze-medallist was competing in her debut Commonwealth Games, also perhaps her last, and made it a memorable one with yet another dominating performance to claim a unanimous verdict of 5-0.

India’s performance in the Commonwealth Games 2018 was commendable. Boosting sports in the country India has gathered gem athletes. Ensuring incredible their performance on the international platform these rising stars have showcased India’s talent on the international front.
