New Delhi, April 23: Women are showing their power in every area. Kolkata's Tanya Sanyal has created a new history. Tanya has become the first Indian woman to join the firefighters. For the first time, the Airports Authority of India has appointed a female firefighter. Earlier, only men were there in this profession. Tanya has completed her training and will join in one month.

Fire protection service is very important for airports during the plane's arrival and departure. The government authority now has 3,310 firefighters and all were men only. AAI chairman Gurprasad Mahapatra said, "We are facing a shortage of firefighters due to the arrival and expansion of new airports.

We made new rules and decided to appoint women in this area, in which physical standards are a necessary criterion. ' Mahapatra further said that this is the first time that a woman is going to join this area and it will continue to happen as well.

 

Tanya Sanyal has done masters in Botany. Tanya will take charge of AAI's Eastern airports. These include Kolkata, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Gaya and Ranchi airports. Tanya will take charge in a month. Tanya said proudly about her work saying that it is a matter of honor and pride for me. I always wanted to do something like this challenging. To become a male firefighter, it is necessary to have at least 50 kg weight and 1.6 meters minimum height. At the same time, the minimum load for women firefighters has been fixed at 40 kg and the standard of height has been reduced. But in spite of all this work has been kept same for women fighters.
