In Badami, B. Sriramulu to take on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Badami, April 24: Paving the way for a high profile battle in north Karnataka’s Badami segment, BJP has fielded Ballari MP B. Sriramulu against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. On the last day of nominations filing, BJP finally announced Sriramulu’s candidature for prestigious Badami seat in Bagalkot district. CM Siddaramaiah and Sriramulu both are contesting from two seats. Badami which comes under Bagalkot Lok Sabha is currently with BJP’s P C Gaddigoudar.

In a bid to consolidate the votes of the Valmiki community, BJP zeroed on Sriramulu who belongs to same community to take on the Karnataka Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah has already filed nomination from Chamundeshwari. The Ballari MP today filed his nomination in presence of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Union Minister and Karnataka In-charge Prakash Javdekar. The 225-member Karnataka assembly will go to polls on May 12 and results will be declared on May 15.
