Bengaluru, May 15: HD Kumaraswamy led JD(S) is all set to form the government in Karnataka with the support of Congress party. Though BJP has emerged as a single largest party as it is leading with 104 seats, Congress has successfully entered in power via backdoor.
HD Kumaraswamy has written a letter to the Governor of Karnataka saying that the JD(S) has accepted the support of Congress to form the government in Karnataka and sought an appointment. He in a letter said, “This is to submit your good self that I have accepted the support extended by Indian National Congress party for forming the government. In this regard, I seek your appointment today evening between 5.30 pm to 6 p.m.”
As of now according to the available data from Election Commission, BJP has emerged as a single largest party as it is leading with 104 seats. On the other side, Congress is leading 74 seats while JD(S) is leading on 38 seats.
Earlier, Congress in a bid to enter in power from backdoor had asked JDS to form the government with its support. Notably, Congress playing its card to be in power of Karnataka had offered the Chief Ministerial post to Devegowda’s son HD Kumaraswamy which is now been formally accepted.
