Cook of Indian Diplomat in Pakistan arrested for connection with ISI in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, May 25: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested the suspected agent of Pakistani intelligence agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. 

Suspected Agent Ramesh Singh had bugged an Indian diplomat's house in Pakistan and provided Information to the Pakistan’s spy agency ISI while working as a domestic help till last year.

Singh was a cook at the residence of a senior officer with the Indian Embassy in Pakistan and exchanged crucial information with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence or ISI for money, the police said.

Ramesh Singh, a resident of Pithoragarh, was interrogated on May 22 by a joint team of Uttarakhand Police and UP ATS. His house was inspected and he was arrested. After being arrested, he gave several important information to the team in the inquiry.

Inspector General of Police (ATS) Asim Arun told that on May 3, 2017, Aftab resident of Faizabad was apprehended by UP ATS with the help of Military Intelligence, on the charge of espionage. After interrogation, some other ISI agents came to ATS radar. The report of this case was recorded in Gomtinagar police station. He said that after the consideration of the case, a team of ATS went to Pithoragarh under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (ATS) Rajesh Sahni.
