Monsoon session of Goa Assembly from July 19; Budget 2018-19 to be discussed and passed finally

Panaji, June 16: After comeback of people CM Manohar Parrikar, Goa has got a double pace of development. And the news is such that the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly is likely to be summoned from July 19, during which Budget 2018-19 would be discussed and passed.


 

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who resumed work Friday morning, held a series of meetings with the Ministers and it was unofficially decided to call the monsoon session from July 19 for a period of 12 days. This will be placed before Cabinet and the Business Advisory Committee (BAC).

Minister for Town and Country Planning (TCP)Vijai Sardesai said, “However the same has to be endorsed by BAC.” The Comptroller Auditor General of India (CAG) report for the financial year ending March 2017, maybe also tabled during the session.

The Budget Session of the State Assembly held in February had been curtailed to five days following the sudden illness of the Chief Minister. Parrikar, on February 22 had presented a Rs 17,123-crore Budget for 2018-19, an increase of 6.84 percent over the ongoing fiscal, with a stress on education and job creation.
