Hyderabad, Aug 14: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has clarified that his party will not team up with BJP for upcoming 2019 general election. Speaking to the media on the backdrop of Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (TRS) Executive meeting, Rao said that TRS will face the poll at its own.

Earlier, speculations were rife about Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s new inning with NDA after the meeting of Prime Minister Modi and KCR. Last week, TRS also backed NDA candidate for Rajya Sabha deputy chairman poll. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief stated that for the interest of the state, he would take all possible steps to keep better coordination with the Center.

Expressing displeasure over the functioning of NITI aayog, Rao mentioned that the central body is not addressing the issues faced by the newly crafted state. KCR also took a dig at BJP and Congress for suppressing regional players.

Reacting to Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s family party jibe, the Chief Minister asked Gandhi to show political maturity before commenting on TRS government. Yesterday, the Congress President blamed KCR for betraying the people of Telangana.

On the reports of early elections, KCR said that TRS is ready to face election any time. He hoped that the regional outfit will repeat the performance of 2014.
