‘Bunty Aur Babli Jodi’ Abhishek, Rani to be back with its sequel this November

Mumbai, August 20: Bollywood gossips say that this November you will see the Bunty Aur Babli Jodi Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji to be back on screens with the sequel of 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli which was based on the story of a crime couple.

 

The duo is one of the most loved on-screen couples in Bollywood with some popular films like Yuva, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Bunty Aur Babli among many others to their credit. Now, after almost a decade, the two stars may be reuniting on the big screen for the sequel of their much loved 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli. The movie, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, was helmed by Shaad Ali and produced by Yash Raj Films, and it went on to win hearts with its humorous plot and foot-tapping music.

A source close to the production house spilled some details to us about the sequel. “Bunty Aur Babli sequel has been on cards for quite some time now. But it was only recently that the things were taken forward. Aditya Chopra himself is looking into this and the pre-production work has already started. Both Rani and Abhishek are more than keen to do this project and have given their nod for it. However, it won’t be directed by Shaad. Who is helming this sequel is still not revealed. But the plot has been finalized and the shooting schedule is being planned. If everything works out well, then the movie will tentatively go on-floors in November, this year,” reveals the source.
