Mumbai, August 20: Nowadays it is a very common scenario which we see at most of the tourist places, people clicking their selfies in whatever poses they like. The selfie culture has been trendy from last 5-6 years a much but this selfie below was clicked in the 1950s. Yes, you heard it correct nearly 65 years ago.



 

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar put out an interesting tweet in which she has posted a photo of herself in her younger days and stated that she is sharing a “self-clicked” picture from the 1950s. Lata Mangeshkar also added that this photo would be called a “selfie” in today’s time.

It can be guessed that the picture has been clicked by Lata Mangeshkar herself with a camera with the help of the timer.

 

Following this, she has also posted a picture in which she has is clicking a photograph. She also captioned it as world photography day.

She considered herself to be a good photographer till the time she met ace lensman Gautam Rajadhyksha.

"I purchased a Rolleiflex camera in 1946 and took a lot of pictures. I thought I was good. I don't like to be photographed. But, a few years later, I started getting calls from Gautam saying he wanted to take my pictures. I always ignored that," she said, recalling her first encounters with the celebrity photographer.

Mangeshkar said she was recording for a Bengali song at Salil Chaudhary's studio when Rajadhyksha came and took her pictures. "I feel happy that those photos are still being used at many places. But, initially, when I saw the photos, I was very disappointed because they were better than the pictures I had taken. I actually stopped photography after that."
