Security forces eliminate two more terrorists in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, September 21: And the Operation-All Out continues. Security forces on Thursday eliminated at least two terrorists at the forest area of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.

 

Security forces including troopers of Indian Army, CRPF and personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation after receiving a specific input of presence of terrorists in Sumlar forest area of the Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire at positions of the security forces and in retaliation two ultras were eliminated. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition has been recovered from the encounter spot. However, the identity of slain terrorists is ascertained.


The counter-terror operation comes hours ahead of Hizbul terrorists crossing all the limits of cowardness abducted and killed three policemen including two Special Police Officers (SPOs) and one constable identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchey, Kuldeep Singh and Nisar Ahmad Bhat.

A week before, security forces eliminated at least five terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in a fierce encounter that took place in Chowgam village of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, in a big breakthrough, security forces eliminated eight terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit in separate operations in Kupwara, Baramulla and Reasi district of the valley.

Importantly, under Operation-All Out, a total of 134 terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind have been eliminated in the first eight months of this year i.e from January 1 to August 31. While in the month of August, 25 terrorists were eliminated which is highest in a month this year.
