Indian citizens of Assam is protected under NRC: PM Modi

Silchar, Jan 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Silchar in Assam today. Modi praised valley people for their love which foster him come to valley very frequently.

Prime Minister said how good governance has helped the common man. Various schemes of the central government have helped people in daily life.

While elaborating about National register of citizenship (NRC) PM said our government is bound to security, prosperity, honour of Indian citizen. After the Supreme court’s decision, it is now easy to process on Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016.

“Government decided to implement Clause 6 of Assam Accord to safeguard the social, cultural and linguistic identity of the state,” said PM Modi. we have constituted a high-level committee who will decide the roadmap for this implementation. Modi expressed Hope it will be passed soon in Parliament

He assured that the projects designed for Northeast will lead the New India in future. After the success of bridges like Bogibeel and Bhupen Hazarika Setu, we are planning one more project on Brahmaputra River.

Talking about various schemes Modi said 80% poor women got a gas connection in subsidised rate.

Other than this government is working on many infrastructure projects which include four-lane highway, bridges over other river costs Rs.1000 crore. ‘Act east act fast for east’ will promote this Barak region.
