Jaipur, January 7: ‘We assure farmers will be given loan waivers’ was quoted by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot during his oath ceremony and interestingly some of them have! But can Congress really solve the matter when the party itself have their hands mashed in corruption and scam?

People have come out in protest alleging the loan waiver as scam bringing the Rajasthan Loan Waiver under scanner, Congress has shown its true colours where they listed pseudo beneficiaries name in loan waiver listed. In the tribal district of Dungarpur, there are many farmers who never took out the loan from the cooperative bank but their names are featured on the list of those whose short-term farm loan was recently waived off by the Gehlot government. Bank officials allege when Congress announced loan waivers they issued loans in name of people who never availed a loan

When people checked the name of farmers on the online link provided by the state government they found the name of more than 1700 people from the village whose name figured in the list but they never took the loan. The cooperative bank in Gowadi had given a short-term loan of Rs 8 crore to 1780 farmers. The villagers also submitted a memorandum to local SDM demanding a thorough inquiry into the matter. Meanwhile, the government has suspended the manager of the cooperative bank and investigation has been ordered.

Rahul Gandhi had promised farm loan waiver in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh within 10 days of coming to power. After Ashok Gehlot took charge of the state he announced a farm loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh, after which the Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted "It's done!"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had rightly termed the farm loan waiver by Congress party as a ‘hoax’. While addressing a rally in Ghaziabad, PM Modi slammed the corrupt congress by asserting that Congress overturned the governments in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, but farmers are already facing the brunt of it as they have to stand in long queues to get Urea. Even in Karnataka, Congress made a backstage entry and established government there. They gave lollipops to people in terms of assurances, and promised loan waiver but only 800 people got their loan waived.

In front of 6 lakh crore debt, they have waived off only 60 crore. When CAG report came, out of this amount, 35 lakh did not go to farmers or indebted people, then where has the money gone?

It is not just Rajasthan, but also in other states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh farmers are still committing suicides in dozens. Is Congress really working for the people, for the farmers as they promised in their rallies. In a desperate attempt to come into power, the Congress failed once again and got trapped in its own mistake.
